PRESS RELEASE

The Pain Clinic (PAI) announces its

Online Manuscript Submission, Tracking and

Peer Review System

Leeds, UK, 26 April 2007

We are pleased to announce the introduction of the Online Manuscript Submission, Tracking and Peer Review System for The Pain Clinic (PAI). Contributors have the benefit of being able to upload papers direct to the journal by registering at the system homepage: http://pai.edmgr.com.

The system is designed to speed the processing of submissions by facilitating electronic refereeing and streamlining communication with the author and coordination throughout the publication process. Authors can check the progress of submissions online.

Full guidance on the submission procedure, including tutorials and instructions to authors, is available via links from http://pai.edmgr.com. A range of file formats is supported, but authors are advised to check the specific requirements before submitting, particularly regarding artwork presentation and quality. Please view the Notes for Contributors for further information.

Any queries can be directed to the Editor, Lloyd Saberski (lsaberski@ihurt.com).

The Pain Clinic, which is new to Maney in 2007, focuses on the clinical methods used and the problems involved in the diagnosis and treatment of persistent and recurrent types of pain. Papers from basic sciences which can contribute to the knowledge of pathophysiologic mechanisms of human diseases will be considered.

The journal provides a forum in which pain clinicians can exchange new ideas and experiences and communicate on diagnosis and treatment. These are topics which bridge the gap between many different specialised areas of medicine. An international editorial board, which includes experts in several different fields, reflects and maintains the journal's multidisciplinary nature.
