Maney acquires Earthscan heritage list
Maney Publishing has purchased two journals, Conservation and Management of Archaeological Sites and Public Archaeology, and a list of heritage books from Earthscan/James & James, (Science Publishers) Ltd.
Maney has the largest list of online archaeology journals of any British publisher in the field. The new acquisitions will compliment and expand on Maney's existing titles such as the Journal of the British Archaeological Association, Environmental Archaeology and Vernacular Architecture. The new titles will join the Maney Online Research E-journals (MORE) History and Humanities Collection.
Michael Gallico, Managing Director of Maney Publishing, is delighted with the acquisitions: “These two journals will be an asset to our renowned humanities list as they will be our first journals dedicated to conservation studies and the archaeology profession, and we look forward to working with the Editors to ensure a smooth transition. Conservation and Management of Archaeological Sites was launched in 1995 and is the only journal that covers both theoretical and practical issues in archaeological site conservation. The journal is edited by Charles Neal Ascherson. Ascherson studied History at King's College Cambridge under the tutelage of Eric Hobsbawn.
