Note for authors - notice of intent to digitize back issues of Levant
Levant is the international peer-reviewed journal of the Council for British Research in the Levant (CBRL), a British Academy-sponsored institute with research centres in Amman and Jerusalem, but which also supports research in Syria, Lebanon and Cyprus. Contributions from a wide variety of areas, including anthropology, archaeology, geography, history, language and literature, political studies, religion, sociology and tourism, are encouraged. While contributions to Levant should be in English, the journal actively seeks to publish papers from researchers of any nationality who are working in its areas of interest.
Subscribers to Levant also receive the annual Bulletin of the CBRL in both print and online format, which contains news on CBRL activities, feature articles, research reports from CBRL funded and affiliated projects, obituaries, and information on CBRL events and publications.
Individuals who wish to subscribe to Levant must do so by becoming members of the Council for British Research in the Levant. Membership includes subscription to Levant and the Bulletin, invitations to all CBRL functions in the UK and entitlement to use CBRL research facilities in Amman and Jerusalem. For further information regarding membership please contact the UK secretary.
Online archive
The back archive of Levant (from 1969) will be available online to institutional subscribers from 2010.
