T'ang Studies is a peer-reviewed interdisciplinary publication of the T'ang Studies Society. Initially conceived in 1982 as the T’ang Studies Society’s newsletter, it has now evolved into a full-fledged scholarly journal open to critical inquiry into all aspects of Tang China. Major disciplines regularly represented in the journal include literature, history, religious studies, and art history. The journal welcomes submissions of original research, brief communications, and reference notes, as well as bibliographic materials.

As of 2010, institutional subscribers will have online access to the full back archive of T'ang Studies included in their subscription. This archive dates back to 1982 including 28 volumes, giving institutions real value for money.

This is a new journal recently acquired by Maney Publishing, alongside two other Chinese history journals, Ming Studies and Early Medieval China.

The T'ang Studies Society, founded in 1981, is a non-profit organization, with membership open to any person or institution interested in the advancement of research on Tang China. An individual subscription to T'ang Studies includes membership in the T'ang Studies Society. Similarly, members receive the journal as part of their annual membership.
