Excavations at Stamford, Lincolnshire, 1963-69

This report brings together three different excavators who investigated sites in Stamford between 1963 and 1969, on behalf of the Stamford Archaeological Research Committee, the Department of the Environment, and the Welland Valley Research Committee. The report is divided into five parts including a discussion of the history and topography of the early town, descriptions of the three excavations including a Saxon-Norman iron -working site, and an assessment of priorities for future research.
