Proceedings of the Third International Conference held at Trinity Hall, Cambridge 1996. Papers examine aluminia scales both with and without secondary additions, iron, nickel, and chronium oxide scales and scaling on other alloys, particularly those of titanium and zirconium. There are also contributions on intermetallics and ODS alloys and coatings and their modes of failure. The need to understand all of our new high temperature alloys in the very aggressive environments in which they are designed to be used is also reported.
