Providing more choice in how you search, access and publish...
Maney’s response to the changing requirements and expectations of our customers (authors, researchers, academic libraries), and those funding bodies which support research and scholarly communication, is to extend our service to publish open access papers in our journals. MORE OpenChoice is compliant with existing Open Access mandates and will in future accommodate new mandates that may be required by sponsor organisations. All subjects in which Maney publishes, for instance History and Humanities as well as STM, will offer MORE OpenChoice to its authors. Where funding bodies mandate it, final versions of MORE OpenChoice papers will be deposited in nominated repositories with links through to a PDF 'print' version accessible from our hosting platforms, IngentaConnect/Highwire.
Together with our many society partners, we serve the academic communities which depend on high quality journal publishing. The dissemination of research through traditional means continues to play a major part in how we publish, and enables investment, innovation, and the development of technology as a driving force. The free dissemination of sponsored papers is an important step in maximizing the impact of research, particularly in the developing world. Together with projects such as HINARI, Agora, OARE, INASP and the Journal Donation Project, we participate in initiatives which overcome barriers to knowledge sharing. Maney is committed to delivering and preserving the research output published in our journals, and to quality assurance of all papers published, through our stringent peer-review process. To prevent any inappropriate influence, or conflict of interest, authors may opt for MORE OpenChoice only once a paper has been peer-reviewed and accepted for publication.
