Each year, the Award Committee of the American Society for Hispanic Art Historical Studies invites nominations for the Eleanor Tufts Prize for a distinguished book in English on the history of art and architecture in Iberia.
This year, ASHAHS has selected two books from Yale University Press: Suzanne Stratton-Pruitt and Joseph Rishel, The Arts in Latin America, selected for the strength of its scholarship, the breadth of its coverage, and the beauty of its presentation; and Robin Adèle Greeley, Surrealism and the Spanish Civil War, selected for the quality of its scholarship, its excellent production, and its thoughtful consideration of an under-studied aspect of art history.
